English for the Professions aims to help Filipino professionals improve their English communication skills for use in the workplace. It’s a sad reality that the age-old notion that Filipinos have excellent grasp of English is now becoming a myth.
Our educational system has disenfranchised our graduates, with many applicants turned away by employers due to poor communication skills. One way to address this is to provide relevant advice on how we can improve ourselves.
Even graduates of top universities need to adjust the way they communicate – away from communicating to impress toward communicating to express. If you communicate to express well enough, a positive impression naturally goes with it.
